FLAVOUR ORIGINS

The peach originated in China and then spread westward throughout Asia and towards the Mediterranean. It was considered a delicacy for European nobility and royalty; legend has it that Queen Victoria considered no meal complete without a fresh peach presented in a cotton napkin.

Peaches are cherished for their velvety skin, succulent flesh and sweetly fragrant taste, which mellows as it ripens and softens. They are commonly enjoyed raw but are also a popular addition to a wide array of cuisines, including tarts, cobblers, tagines and drinks.
